Bowling Night

I have probably posted bowling pictures before but, its one of the things that we like to do as a family.  I love to spend time with these people, they make me happy...most of the time :o)

The newlyweds, still adorable after a year of wedded bliss.

Grampa's always sneaking in kisses whenever he can.

This is how bowling pros are made!

Childhood sweethearts <3

Aren't they adorable?

I think he's hiding from us.

We all like to have one-on-one time with this boy.

I can't play favourites, someone is bound to get jealous.

And thats how we roll....

“I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you . . . and you will be a blessing to others” (Genesis 12:2 NLT).

When we bless others, God takes care of our needs.
God promises that if we will concentrate on blessing others, he’ll take care of our needs. There’s almost nothing that God won’t do for the person who really wants to help other people. In fact, God guarantees this blessing. Jesus said, “I tell you the truth . . . no one who has left home or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God will fail to receive many times as much in this age and, in the age to come, eternal life” (Luke 18:29-30 NIV).

Winter Waterpark Fun

We had been planning this trip for a couple of months. We had to find a Saturday that everyone was available. That's difficult when 2 of us have to work on alternate Saturdays.  Finally the day came, and so did a winter storm...of course. The wind was so strong, it was incredible, but that wasn't going to stop us.

This little fish would not be held back. Seeing the wonder and excitement in his face was well worth the trip.
Grampa looked pretty happy too! He's still a little boy too.

Letting the little ladies go first. He's such a gentleman.

I didn't think I had to worry about the big boys, apparently I was wrong. Why, oh why do boys (no matter what the age) have to one up each other? It drives me crazy!!!

First boy goes down the waterslide...faster then allowed, and missing skin at the end of the ride.

Second boy goes down the waterslide...way faster then allowed, totally out of control, and had smashed elbows at the end of the ride.

Third boy goes down the waterslide...so frikken fast that if you look closely you can see that he is ABOVE the water!!! This is not only dangerous because he could very easily be badly injured from this stunt, but also because I could have KILLED him! Why do you have to put your mother through this sort of thing? These boys don't understand that I just want to have happy family memories. Is that so wrong?

Look out little boy, you're about to get knocked over. And Baby looks pretty excited about it.

I think that he's got a little of his Father and his Uncles DNA.  Scary thought.....
(I love the look on Baby's face in this picture)

That was a close one.
So much to do!

Really Grampa? Umm, he's TOO SMALL for this!!  He was too small but Grampa bribed the lifeguard. oy....Sometimes I wonder.....

I can't look...I don't want to look......I have to look, I have the camera.

Oh my, if he so much as cries one little tear Grampa, I will beat you within an inch of your life with a pool noodle.

Yep, he loved it.

A little chocolate?

Nobody would buy this for me....meanies.

No! You cannot have that, put it back! You would need one BIG glass of milk, and you are lactose intolerant.

Ahhh, my Cody, you know how to make friends wherever you go, and no you cannot bring him home.

Nice look for you babe!

My family. They make me happy. They make me crazy. I love them.

When Baby wants to see the Falls, we stop at nothing.

Oww, I feel good, I knew that I would!  Thanks James Brown.

Everybody's tuckered out.

Resting our feet. Baby was playing camera shy.

Even Robert made the trip.

Thats a carload of trouble.

Thats what tired looks like, after a long, wet, windy, wonderful day!
What will our next adventure be?  I'm not sure, let me recover from this one first.

Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone” (Mark 16:15 NLT)
Here’s the good news: you are able to enter into a relationship with God through an attitude of trust—trust in Jesus Christ—and not through a religion of rules, regulations, and rituals. God says you get to know Him just by trusting Him. If you trust His Son with your life, you get forgiveness for your past, a purpose for living in your present, and a home in heaven in the future.
The good news keeps sounding better and better because the bad news of the world keeps getting worse and worse.

Winter 2011-2012

This could possibly be the best winter EVER!  I would prefer no snow and warmer temperatures, but I dare not complain. When the sun comes out you could almost be certain that spring is here. It's also been great because hubby has been able to work through the whole season. On the colder days, he works in the basement, but for the most part he has been busy outside of the house.

Well my big news for the year is....I have officially RETIRED from working outside of the house!! I have been so happy with my decision. I used to need to get out of the house and have something to do, but at this time of my life I have so many things going on; I don't need the distraction. I can't wait to focus more on this, writing, if I may call it that.  It is my joy and my escape. I hope I can inform, entertain, and inspire people  and be a good example for my children and grandchildren.

My Valentine surprised me with a new MacBook Pro!  I love it and can't wait to put it to good use.

I've had a lot going on that last few months and have kind of neglected my blog, but I'm back and I can't wait to tell you everything that has been happening.

“But more than anything else, put God's work first and do what he wants. Then the other things will be yours as well.” (Matthew 6:33 CEV)
Jesus wants you to spend time with him. He died on the cross to give you fellowship with him. You don’t have time not to do this.  Make time for God, and it’ll change your life.

Cabos San Lucas

Los Cabos Mexico 2012 156

The Sea of Cortez sparkles like diamonds.

Just back from one weeks vacation in Los Cabos Mexico. While it was a nice holiday, I feel like I’ve been run over by a truck. Departure was 8:30 pm, so we ended up losing a whole nights sleep by the time we got home. I guess my sleep deprived body couldn’t fight the cold that now has me in its stranglehold. I know…poor, poor me. Whatever, it sucks when you can’t sleep because every time you lie down you feel like you are going to suffocate. Never mind that I’m all hopped up on Nyquil, and Dayquil and neither one of them has helped a bit.

The sunrise was spectacular!

Los Cabos wasn’t as hot as we thought it would be. If we had checked into the average temperature there for this time of year, we probably would have went some where else. I think the highest it got while we were there was around 26-27. Which sounds heavenly when you are up to your knees in snow. However, I think it was like 5 degrees at home. It didn’t have the humidity that Cancun has, I realized that I like the humidity. Don’t misunderstand me, I’m not complaining, I’m just informing.

These boats are circling whales.

Whale watching was really cool. Although, I felt kind of like we were intruding on newlyweds. Whales come here to mate. As soon as someone spotted a spray of water, boats descended on these poor mammals, like flies on honey. I’d be amazed if there was any intimacy going on.

Yep, nothing like having an audience.

Whale Tail!

He’s waving goodbye, our two hours were up. Now he could get on with his business.

Los Cabos Mexico 2012 517

This lovely man was making Baked Alaska. It’s an art. The people that work on this resort, work very hard. They are there when you wake up in the morning and they are still there when you go to bed at night. And they always have a smile on their faces.

Los Cabos Mexico 2012 539

Yep, the $100.00 club is here too! And its exactly the same as Costco here. We call it the $100.00 club because you can’t get out of there without spending  at least $100.00!!

Los Cabos Mexico 2012 554

Ummm, not sure about the safety standards here. It doesn’t look very safe to me, but I think any kind of construction work is unsafe. In fact, I think I will abstain from any kind of physical labour, forever…. just to be cautious.

Los Cabos Mexico 2012 564

Outdoor market. You know its bad when they say to you “Come look at my junk” , “I won’t rip you off too bad”! You would never hear that in Canada; we’re not that honest.

Los Cabos Mexico 2012 593

View from our room. You can’t see Land’s End but, it was still nice. This kind of reminds me of our hotel room in Delray last year.  I still think that was one of the best holidays we ever had…it was so simple, and we didn’t have to fly across the world to do it.

Los Cabos Mexico 2012 604

Another beautiful sunrise. You can’t really tell the difference between a sunset and a sunrise, can you?

Los Cabos Mexico 2012 694

We left our mark there. It was hard to leave a footprint on this sand.  This sand was brutally hard to walk on.

Los Cabos Mexico 2012 702

This is Pedro,or Carlos, or Juan, …I’m kidding, I don’t know who it is.

In Mexico, everyone that works in or around the resort is your friend.  In general we like to see the best in all people and we are pretty trusting. However, these people are just trying to eke out a living, so if they can sell you a pair of $1.00 earrings for $15.00, they’re going to do it.  Not that I would know anything about that….just saying.

And yes, white girls can jump!!! Not sure about white man…but white girl, definitely!!

Adiós Amigo!
